ABOUT US

Founder and Owner, Andy Ott, was born and raised in Waverly, Iowa and grew up in the construction business doing all facets of carpentry.  Andy created Simon Sez Powerhouse Incorporated (SSPI Solutions) in the spring of 2003, in an effort to keep up with the growing need of installers to conduct retail store installations throughout the midwest.  The company originally focused on sign and lighting maintenance, including retrofitting and LED installations, as well as rollout installations - everything from vinyl graphics, to store fixtures, and construction projects. 

 

SSPI’s TREE SERVICES branch budded in the spring of 2018, after seeing an opportunity with the rise of the emerald ash borer.  With their previous experience, and the appropriate equipment on hand, they decided to start providing local residential and commercial customers with Tree & Stump Removal, Brush & Stump Mulching, and Firewood & Mulch Sales.

Andy and his family have managed timber land for years, with a passion for wildlife and habitat improvement, in an effort to provide a lasting opportunity to hunt, fish, and enjoy the outdoors for generations to come.  Prior to the launch of the Tree Service branch, Andy and his brother-in-law, Leif Johnston (currently the Sales Account Manager for Tree Services), worked together on their family’s ground by clearing out areas to plant food plots and by clearing paths through overgrown underbrush for ATV’s and UTV’s.  As experience and specialty equipment continued to expand, so did the opportunity to work with other landowners and farmers, which evolved to SSPI adding Land Clearing to their offerings.  After gaining traction with land clearing services, SSPI received an opportunity to participate in an Invasive Species Removal and Forest Stewardship Program from the Bremer County USDA and NRCS offices.  We are now accepting contract work from other USDA/NRCS offices, creating yet another service: FORESTRY MANAGEMENT.

SNOW SERVICES is the newest branch of SSPI Solutions, plowing onto the service list in the winter of 2022/2023. With a variety of equipment, SSPI Solutions is able to provide quality snow removal and snow maintenance services for both commercial and residential customers within and around the Waverly, Iowa area.

With strong roots and innovative solutions, who knows where SSPI Solutions will branch out to next!
